Trailer Repair in Anthony
Anthony is an unincorporated community in Marion County on County Road 200A, known as Jacksonville Road, ZIP 32617. It is counted as part of Ocala’s horse country, near the horse farms, the HITS shows and Ocala Breeders’ Sales. We repair horse, stock and utility trailers around Anthony at Ocala prices: bearing repack $150 to $250 per axle, brake adjustment $80 to $150, wood floor about $9 to $13 per square foot, a lighting fault $100 to $200. Running gear and wiring are done at your barn.
Why Anthony is different
Anthony has a long history. It has had a post office since 1877, was platted in 1883 when the railroad reached it, incorporated in 1892 during the phosphate years, and was disincorporated in 1932 in the Depression.
The season sets the calendar. The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit runs October 22, 2026 to April 18, 2027 at HITS Post Time Farm on US Highway 27, and the World Equestrian Center’s Winter Spectacular runs January 6 to April 4, 2027. A trailer that sat over the summer and then hauls every week for six months needs its work done before the first haul, not halfway through.

Breakaway first
Florida’s s. 316.261(4) requires every trailer over 3,000 lb gross to have breakaway brakes that apply automatically and stay applied for at least 15 minutes. On electric brakes, that depends on a small battery that runs down while the trailer sits. Dexter says to take the breakaway battery inside for storage and charge it at least every 90 days; Sundowner says to test the system before each tow by pulling the pin and confirming the brakes apply. See breakaway battery dead or not holding.
Floors under the mats
Every aluminum horse trailer maker we cover has a mats-out schedule in its manual, from Sundowner’s every sixty days to 4-Star’s every six months, because urine under rubber mats corrodes aluminum and rots wood. If you pull the mats and find white powder or soft boards, see trailer floor replacement and the floor calculator.
Before you haul to the show grounds
Use the bearing and brake calculator for a typical range, and read our pre-season trailer check for what to look at yourself. For nearby areas, see Fort McCoy, Reddick and our service areas.
